Your system manager should have received a new ST7 license file when it was released. (If you don’t have the license file, please contact us and we can download it for you).
Save the license file to a permanent location (we recommend the documents folder). Once saved, you may need to edit the license file to identify the correct server host ID.
LAUNCH THE INSTALLER
Select “License Manager” on the SE splash screen:
SET THE DESTINATION FOLDER
The folder name will default to “C:\SEFLex\”. We recommend you change it to something like “C:ST7_SEFlex”. This will allow your organization to install multiple versions of Solid Edge license servers (ST3 and below requires a separate service; the ST7 server will serve versions ST4-ST7). Changing the destination folder also servers to insure that your ST7 License Server installation is not inadvertently overwritten by another Solid Edge License Server.
BROWSE TO THE FOLDER WHERE YOU SAVED THE LICENSE
You may see one or 2 command prompt windows flash during the installation process.
Now that the License Server is installed, you will need to configure any Solid Edge client machines to point to the new server.
CONFIGURE CLIENT MACHINES
To configure the Solid Edge Client, launch the licensing utility from your start menu.
