- How do you see there is a new revision available?
- How do you update that component without closing and reopening the assembly?
This method has been around for a while, but doesn’t tell you a whole lot until after the update has happened. Go to File -> Close and Reopen Selected Parts, select Part and Components and click the “Refresh Teamcenter Information” button. You will see components listed with a Modified Reason of “Newer Revision”.
USING ASSEMBLY NAVIGATOR
This method lets you see what’s available so you can decide whether you want to update the component. It may take more clicks, but it leaves you in control. In Assembly Navigator (ANT) right-click any column header, point to Columns and click “TC Information” to enable that column. Then right-click a blank space in ANT and pick “Refresh Teamcenter Information”. An icon will appear in the row of any component with a newer revision. Hold your cursor over the icon for more information.
So there you have it – two ways to see which components have new revisions available, and how to update your assembly with those revisions without having to close and reopen the assembly.
