- How do you see there is a new revision available?
- How do you update that component without closing and reopening the assembly?
You’re using Teamcenter 10 and NX 9, and you have an assembly open in NX, when someone creates a new revision of one of the components in your assembly. In this situation, two questions may come to mind:
Maintenance Pack 01 (MP01) for NX 10 is now available for download from the Siemens PLM download server. NX 10 MP01 is an accumulation of fixes built for installation on top of Windows 64-Bit and Linux 64-Bit images of NX 10.
Maintenance Pack 04 (MP04) is now available for download from the Siemens PLM download server. This maintenance pack is an accumulation of fixes built for installation on top of Windows 64-Bit and Linux 64-Bit images of NX 9.0.3.
It’s hard to believe that we are now in the final quarter of 2014- this year has flown by (as it does when you’re having fun).
To bring the year to a close, we are honored to offer incredible savings on Femap, NX CAM, and, for the first time in many years, NX CAD!*
As products get more complex and the CAD market becomes saturated with new technologies, being able to articulate the value NX CAD can bring to your company can be a challenge. We know that NX is an amazingly powerful tool, but we work with it every day (so we are a bit biased). We thought to ourselves, “Why not just ask our customers why THEY bought NX CAD?”. So, we did! We asked a variety of customers in a wide range of industries, with company size ranging from a single user with less than $1M in revenue, to large, publicly traded companies with over 35 users and over $1B in revenue to tell us why they are using NX today. Here’s what they had to say!
CONFIRM AND SAVE YOUR LICENSE FILE
Your system manager should have received a new ST7 license file when it was released. (If you don’t have the license file, please contact us and we can download it for you).
Save the license file to a permanent location (we recommend the documents folder). Once saved, you may need to edit the license file to identify the correct server host ID.
Acuity, together with Siemens PLM Software, is pleased to announce that you can now save 25% on your purchase of qualifying NX CAM packages*!
ELIGIBLE NX CAM PACKAGES
ABOUT NX CAM
Formerly known as Unigraphics, NX CAM software provides a wide range of functionality, from simple NC programming to high-speed and multi-axis machining, enabling you to address many tasks with one system.
The flip-side of that coin is a new generation of workers who have been raised on smartphones and web applications. Sometimes referred to as “Digital Natives“, this younger generation presents a unique challenge to manufacturers in that they are open to change, and function more comfortably in an environment with less structure, and with a higher degree of automation and collaboration.
Where do we go from here?
THE 3RD IT PLATFORM CAN HELP
While maintaining an active recruitment cycle and offering in-depth training programs for new hires will always be a necessity (and a real challenge), technology affords you another opportunity for continued growth. The trend for “manufacturing companies of the future” is to create a work environment that is information-centric and collaborative by leveraging technology to store both the decades of invaluable tribal knowledge about your company’s products and processes, as well as current and future information. This serves to break down informational silos and simplify your hierarchical organization.
Based on cloud, mobility, social business, and Big Data analytics, this “3rd IT Platform” promises to create a real-time, collaborative, decision-making environment that will be pivotal to supporting manufacturers as they make a shift from transactional to real-time business. Using a system that incorporates this platform will allow companies to form communities of interest and focus; self-forming teams will be created by leveraging opportunities offered by the higher degree of real-time visibility and the collaborative working environment.
In summary, your workforce is your most valuable asset. Many companies are recognizing the critical business value of new and exciting ERP technologies to solve these challenging workforce issues. We know that these issues are driving factors for many of our customers, and have selected a partner (Infor) who understands the needs of today’s manufacturers and offers the technology required to move forward into the future.
To your continued success.
I am very excited to announce the addition of the Syteline ERP software from Infor to our product line, starting this month.
Enterprise Resource Planning software has always been of interest to our company. The goals of an ERP implementation are very similar to the benefits achieved by Product Lifecycle Management:
WHY INFOR ?
We have spent months investigating the various Enterprise Resource Planning products that would suit our particular customer base. Infor stood out from the crowd due to their intense focus on the discrete manufacturing industry. In addition, Infor is at the top of the list of Tier II ERP applications and Syteline has a significant presence in the Aerospace OEM and Supply Chain industry.
We welcome any inquiries regarding your interest in ERP, and are eager to help your company take a closer look at its business processes.

To your continued success,
Hello and welcome to the Acuity blog! We are incredibly excited to offer this forum as a new way to share a wide variety of information with our customers.
You can look forward to feature sections including:
2013 WAS A YEAR OF TRANSFORMATION
Internally, Acuity transformed by diving into a major initiative to evaluate what it is we’re doing as a team and, more importantly, why. This effort culminated in a redefinition of our company values:
Do the right thing. Enjoy our work. Build sustainable relationships. Follow through.
These values are meant to serve as a guidepost for every interaction we have, and we hope you get to see this in action this year.
2013 was also a year of transformation for many of our customers.
WHERE ARE WE HEADED IN 2014?
I recently read an article referencing 2014 as “the year that manufacturing will fully recover to pre-recession levels”- and I believe it. Industrial stocks are on the rise, major aerospace OEMs have enormous backlogs which are projected to keep our customers busy for the next 5-6 years, and advanced hardware and software technology continues to move ever-forward as consumer appetites change.
What does this mean for our customers?
For many of them, it means that there is increased pressure to deliver products on time, on budget and without defects. We are seeing that trend echoed throughout the requests we are getting for new software and services- there is a renewed interest in improving the processes and tools used in engineering and manufacturing.
Budgets for CAD, CAM, and PLM initiatives are increasing across the spectrum of industries that we serve. Additionally, the improving business environment (and subsequent pressures) has increased the awareness of the value of PLM software amongst many of our customers who may not have needed it in recent past. As a matter of fact, IDC Manufacturing Insights is predicting a major emphasis on PLM investment as a means to drive future profitable revenue growth.
Whether your initiatives dictate investment in training, consulting or software, the Acuity team is ready to help transform your processes and tools. As always, we welcome your feedback and look forward to working with you.
To your continued success!
