We have learned a lot about this fast-paced start-up environment. The speed of product development and pure innovation is astoundingly different from that of other industries and geographical regions that we have worked with. PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) plays a much more significant role earlier in the life of these customers. Ideas turn into products within months, and those products have a global market almost right off the factory floor.
It is critical that these often-distributed product development and manufacturing teams have a single source of product data, as well as a managed environment for their supply chain. Cloud-based PLM and scalable design tools have become critical business applications and the investment in this area often occurs before any major rounds of funding.
Acuity will be hosting a series of events in the coming months to show our customers and prospects different aspects of Teamcenter, the powerful cloud-based PLM offering from Siemens PLM. We will send notifications through our blog (advertised through our newsletter as well as Linkedin and Twitter), be on the look-out for these notifications.
Paul has been working with CAD/CAM/PLM software since the earth started cooling. His first job out of college in the mid-90’s was selling AutoCAD and related products for Ketiv Technologies (Portland-based channel partner). His second job out of college was selling Solid Edge, SDRC I-deas, NX CAD/CAM for Acuity in the early 2000’s. Paul has been working at Acuity for 17yrs (has owned the joint for 13yrs) and has, in that time, learned the value of focus. His employees are as close as family and Siemens PLM is Acuity’s primary vendor.
