As with all proprietary software file servers, a certain degree of security is necessary to protect the provider and the client from malicious attacks and to insure data integrity. The Siemens GTAC file server requires what is known as a WebKey Account and Password. You can create your WebKey Account and Password on-line at https://www2.industrysoftware.automation.siemens.com/webkey once you have received your initial license file with your Sold-To Number and your WebKey Access Code. You will be asked for both to initiate the WebKey Account creation process.
Once you have a WebKey Account and password, you can access the file server from the "Download and Upload Files" selection of the main menu at the GTAC website which can be found at http://www.plm.automation.siemens.com/en_us/support/gtac/. To keep things a little less overwhelming, you will be allowed to select only those products that you are licensed to use once you reach the download server area.
The rest of the download process is pretty straight forward if your web browser can reliably handle large zip files. Some of these files are over three Gigabytes in size, and I've downloaded and unzipped a lot of them, so I've established a routine through trial and error that works reliably for me. I use the latest version of Mozilla Firefox because it has a simple to install and extremely reliable download accelerator add-in called “DownThemAll” and I unzip the files with a free Zipfile utility called “7-zip.” I have had clients with corrupted downloads using other web browser and Zipfile utility combinations but luckily, I haven't experienced one bad installation with this software combination. You can find both of these programs easily with your favorite Internet search engine.

- Maintenance release install (ex: NX 10.0.3)
- Maintenance pack install (ex: NX 10.0.3.5 MP05)
